EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) is a profitability proxy meaning earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, commonly used in valuation and debt covenant analysis. EBITDA is used to compare operating performance across companies and to size leverage, and EBITDA adjustments are often debated during diligence.
