Leverage (Debt)

Leverage (Debt) is the use of borrowed capital to finance a company or transaction, increasing potential returns to equity holders but also increasing fixed obligations and risk. In buyouts and growth financings, Leverage (Debt) is assessed through ratios like debt/EBITDA, interest coverage, and covenant headroom, and too much Leverage (Debt) can constrain operating flexibility.
