Series A Round

Series A Round is a startup financing whereby angels and/or venture capital firms typically first invest in a startup company. Prior to the Series A Round, the startup may have been financed the founders and their friends and family. The “Series A” gets its name from the class of preferred stock typically issued by the startup to the angels and venture capitalists, the “Series A Preferred Stock.”
