Conditions Subsequent

Conditions subsequent are events or requirements that occur after a contract becomes effective, and if they happen (or aren’t satisfied), they can end, limit, or unwind a party’s rights or obligations.
In other words: the deal/obligation is in effect now, but a later event can terminate it or change the outcome.
