Creditor

A Creditor is an entity (person or institution) from whom money is borrowed to be paid back with interest at a later date.  Usually, Creditors have legal contracts with the borrower granting the lender certain rights if the borrower fails to pay back the loan. For example, the right to claim any of the debtor’s real assets (e.g. real estate or car).
