The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank) is comprised of a significant number of new regulations for financial institutions and their customers. Dodd-Frank was passed in response to the financial crisis of 2008. It established new regulatory agencies and implemented other ways in which to increase governmental oversight.
