Federal Reserve Act

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 created the Federal Reserve System that is still in power today. The purpose of the Act was to establish economic stability through regulation and oversight. The Act gave the Federal Reserve Bank the sole authority to print currency and thus, provided more security and prevented the financial panic, to some extent, that was common place before the Act was enacted.
