Illiquid

Illiquid describes an asset that cannot be quickly bought or sold without materially affecting its price, often due to limited buyers, transfer restrictions, or sparse trading. In venture capital, private company shares are typically Illiquid until an exit (IPO or acquisition), and Illiquid holdings require longer time horizons and different valuation approaches.
