Lapsed Option

A Lapsed Option is an employee or service-provider stock option that has expired or been forfeited, often because it was not exercised within the post-termination exercise window or before the option’s stated expiration date. In cap table management, a Lapsed Option typically returns to the option pool for regranting, and tracking Lapsed Option events is important for dilution planning and financial reporting.
