Liquidity Event

A Liquidity Event is an event that allows shareholders to convert paper value into cash, most commonly an acquisition, IPO, direct listing, or secondary sale. In venture portfolios, a Liquidity Event is how returns are realized, and Liquidity Event planning often includes timing, tax considerations, lockups, and distribution mechanics for funds.
