Management Fee

A Management Fee is the annual fee paid by a fund to its manager (GP/management company) to cover operating expenses such as salaries, rent, and overhead, typically expressed as a percentage of committed capital during the investment period and invested capital thereafter. In LP negotiations, Management Fee levels and step-downs are core economic terms, and Management Fee treatment of expenses and offsets can materially affect net returns.
