Return on Investment

The Return on Investment (ROI) is a measure of gain or loss relative to the amount invested, commonly expressed as a multiple (e.g., 3.0x) or percentage. In venture capital, Return on Investment is used alongside IRR to evaluate performance, and Return on Investment comparisons depend on timing, dilution, and whether returns are realized or marked to market.
