Underwriter

An Underwriter is a financial institution that helps an issuer sell securities in a public offering by purchasing securities from the issuer and reselling them to investors, and/or by managing the distribution and pricing process. In IPOs, the Underwriter runs the roadshow, bookbuilding, and stabilization activities, and Underwriter selection can influence valuation, investor mix, and aftermarket performance.
